Carolinas for Care exists to expand access to breakthrough mental health treatments by advancing evidence-based policy, supporting research across the Carolinas, and educating communities about psychedelic-assisted therapies.
Carolinas for Care began with a deeply personal understanding of what it means to search for healing. Founder Gina Giorgio has lived with rheumatoid arthritis since the age of nine, and was raised in a military family that has known the weight of trauma, experiences that taught her how limited conventional treatments can be, and drove her to seek out new frontiers in medicine. Discovering the powerful potential of psychedelic medicine, a mission was ignited to extend breakthroughs in care to others in the Carolinas.

Carolinas for Care is leading the movement to expand safe, evidence-based access to psychedelic-assisted and emerging health treatments across North and South Carolina. Through education, policy reform, and community-building, we work to break down the barriers that keep proven and promising treatments out of reach.
We partner with leading research institutions, clinicians, and providers across the Carolinas to advance the study of these therapies for conditions like PTSD, depression, pain, and anxiety, while engaging lawmakers to champion policy that prioritizes access, safety, and mental health.
